KOMAL RICE

Rice is one intrinsic part of Indian cuisine. Imagine a dinner party without a rice dish, or a casual lunch without it, it’s difficult right? Something will always feel amiss if you don’t have a portion of rice in a meal. Indians love biryani and pulaos, and the comfort these dishes bring with it. And this is exactly why, when I heard about a type of rice that needs no extra cooking, I was elated. After all, what else does an amateur cook like me need in life? Food that cooks on its own.

MOGRA BASMATI RICE

It is defined by its broken Basmati grains and distinguished Basmati aroma and texture. For those who prefer a value-for-money product for daily consumption, this distinctly aromatic and flavorful variant will take care of your inclination and make every meal memorable. Despite the grains being broken, they elongate up to three times their original length when cooked.

IDLI RICE

Idli Sambar finds its origin in South India but is now popular all over the country and outside. We enjoy it as a breakfast, a snack and also a light lunch/dinner. Idli, a round shaped steamed rice-lentil cake, is one of the healthiest breakfast item of Indian Cuisine and staple food of South Indians.

IR 36

In the 2001’s rice variety ‘IR36’ was the most widely adapted variety in rice lands throughout Asia due to multiple resistance to diseases and pests that were causing significant yield loss. The development of IR36 was led by the International Rice Research Institute, which has a long history of rice breeding, including the breakthrough success with ‘IR8’, a key variety of the Green Revolution. To improve rice beyond the success of IR8, IRRI expanded its germplasm collection with the goal of developing rice varieties with multiple disease and pest resistance.

IR 64

IR64 is a rice variety, with average mature plant height of approximately 100 cm in the Philippines. It is a relatively early duration variety, with total growth duration of about 117 days. It inherits the same allele as other varieties, ultimately derived from Dee-geo-woo-gen. According to Wei et al. It has the loss of function alleles for, which confer earlier duration and insensitivity to photoperiod.

IR 8

Food was scarce and countless people were in peril of starvation. India was importing huge quantities of food grains from the US to feed its growing millions in a very manner that was famously described as “ship-to-mouth” sustenance. By the International Rice Research Institute was established with an urgent mission: to develop a high-yielding rice variety that’s immune to attack by major insects and pests.
